Prayer is central to the life of any follower of Christ. The Apostle Paul instructs us to pray without ceasing. Jesus himself went out to a quiet place to pray. We follow in those footsteps.
Morning Prayer: From Monday through Thursday at 9am we gather in the sanctuary for a time of opening ourselves to the Holy to begin our day. We usually sing a contemplative song, share a communion with God in silence for about 20 minutes then speak prayers for the larger communities to which we belong. It is a simple and powerful way to begin the day.
Taize service: On the 3rd Tuesday of every month we meet at 7pm for a beautiful service of silence, scripture and song. We sing the prayers of the Taize community in France to help settle us into a place where we can enter the silence to listen for God’s voice and calling.
Lectio Divina: On the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 7pm we gather to listen to scripture at a depth. Come join us to listen in community for the Word of God speaking into the midst of your life.
Worship: It is one of our on-going practices to teach different ways of praying during our worship services on Sunday mornings at 9:45am. We have creative prayer responses (like journaling or writing a letter to God) as well as frequent Lectio Divina or Ignatian Prayer with Scripture to help us listen for God’s voice through scripture.
Let us pray...
